Lovely clean modern apartment but choosing Champagny needs careful planning.

Points positifs : Modern, comfortable and very clean apartment in a nice location opposite the children’s play park. Good facilities in the apartment and comfortable beds. Quiet location and neighbours quiet. Very spacious underground designated parking space. Hosts were very responsive and a lovely touch of a local gift delivered part way through the holiday.

Points négatifs : The apartment is situated below the main village so it’s a steep 10 minute walk to the village or need to drive to the car park next to the bubble lift. In poor weather conditions the lift between Champagny and La Plagne can be closed (as was the case for most of the week that we were there) which means that you can’t access La Plagne ski area. Champagny-only ski area is adequate for beginners but limited in the number of pistes.

Points positifs : The apartment is beautiful, modern, well-designed and equipped. The buildings are new and pleasant, including the underground parking lot. The location is relatively close to the entrance of the village, next to the pool, the playgrounds, including basketball and soccer fields, and the ski bus stop near by.

Points négatifs : The main problem is that there is only one toilet in the apartment!!! There are 2 bathrooms but one toilet and when I asked in advance I was told there were two.... The person in charge apologized for this, brought us a bottle of wine and paid for 2 sets of ski equipment that we rented. In general, Charline was very nice and helpful!! But I'm not sure we would have rented the apartment for six people if we had known there was one toilet. Also, it should be taken into account that in January, during the period we were there - January 21-28, the ski bus frequency is low and there are only 2 buses in the morning. So we usually took the car to the parking lot next to the gondola and paid 16 euros a day for parking there, and the elevator from the parking lot did not work most days... You can also walk with your ski boots, but there is a lot of ice on the streets. The village itself is very beautiful and pleasant and the apartment was good for the price and the ability to rent it from Wednesday to Wednesday (most apartments from Saturday to Saturday)
